PreventOK is an online injury prevention program for young athletes
Juan Reque is a physical therapist, strength and conditioning coach, massage therapist, author, speaker, and creator of preventOK, which has changed the way athletes approach injury prevention. Juan received his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 1996 from University of Madrid, Spain and his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1999 from University of Oviedo, Spain.
Before starting his own therapy practice in the San Diego area, he worked for 13 years on the professional tennis tour as an ATP Trainer, was a physiotherapist for the Spanish Davis Cup Team and was a personal trainer for several professional tennis players, including Maria Sharapova. In his current practice, Juan continues to focus on injury prevention and treatment with an emphasis on helping athletes to avoid from injuries through preventive exercise routines.
Over the years, Juan has observed that many athletes get injured over and over, often injuring and re-injuring the same areas. He decided to create the preventOK program to provide a means to avoid this injury cycle. He believes that regular, short, focused exercise programs can go a long way toward preventing injuries.
Although this program applies to athletes of all ages, Juan particularly likes to work with juniors, as he believes in creating good habits that can help shape their growing body structures and provide a foundation for a lifetime of injury avoidance.
